Cummins ISB4.5 CM2150 Fault Code: 2443 PID: SPN: 2443 FMI: 13 Inector Solenoid Driver Cylinder 2 – Out of Calibration.

Circuit Description
The injector solenoid valves are actuated by the engine control module (ECM) to control fuel metering and timing. Each injector solenoid is connected to the ECM by a SUPPLY and a RETURN wire. An electrical pulse is sent to the injector from the ECM on the SUPPLY wire and returns to the ECM on the return wire, after actuating the solenoid. Each electric solenoid valve is normally open and is only closed by an electrical pulse from the ECM during fuel injection and metering.

Component Location
The injectors pass through the top of the rocker lever cover. Each injector has an external electrical connector, which connects directly to the engine harness. The engine harness links the injectors to the ECM.

Conditions for Running the Diagnostics
This diagnostic runs continuously when the engine is running.

Conditions for Setting the Fault Codes
The ECM detects that the injector barcode value for cylinder 2 has not been entered correctly into the ECM.

Action Taken When the Fault Code is Active
The ECM illuminates the amber CHECK ENGINE lamp immediately when the diagnostic runs and fails.

Conditions for Clearing the Fault Code
-The fault code will clear immediately after the correct injector barcode values have been entered with INSITE™ electronic service tool.
-Start and idle the engine for 1 minute.
-The ECM will turn off the amber CHECK ENGINE lamp and the fault code will go inactive immediately after the diagnostic runs and passes.
-This fault code can also be cleared with INSITE™ electronic service tool.

Shop Talk
Each fuel injector has a specific barcode. The barcode data contains specific injector information. This barcode information needs to be entered into the ECM with INSITE™ electronic service tool. If an engine is found to have incorrect injector barcode values, the correct injector barcode values must be entered. The engine symptom of incorrect barcode values can include rough idle. The factory installed injector barcode values can be found in QuickServe™ Online by entering the correct engine serial number (ESN), selecting Service, and then Engine Dataplate. The correct injector barcode values for that ESN are contained in the engine dataplate section. If the engine has had a previous repair involving the replacement of injectors, the injector barcode values can be read directly off the top of each injector without the need of removing any additional parts. Use INSITE™ electronic service tool to enter the barcode values into the ECM for this fault code to go inactive.
