Detroit DD16 EPA10 (2010-13) Fault Code: SPN 65279 FMI 16 (MCM) Water-In-Fuel (WIF) Ignored-Shutdown

PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Drain the fuel filter module by removing the fuel filters or opening the drain valve. Hand tighten the drain plug and prime the fuel filter with the hand pump. If code doesn’t come back, problem solved.
2. Reset the water in fuel indicator.
3. Failed water in fuel sensor.
4. Water in fuel sensor connector/harness.
