Detroit DD16 GHG14 (2014-16) Fault Code: SPN 2791 FMI 8 (MCM) Smart Remote Actuator 3 (EGR), Internal Test Running

DESCRIPTION:
The fault code sets when the motor control module (MCM) detects that the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve position is incorrect.

MONITORED PARAMETER:
EGR position error.

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Engine running

MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None

EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Always enabled

TYPICAL DURATION:
Two seconds

DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL

ENGINE REACTION:
None

VERIFICATION:
Engine idle

PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. If any voltage codes exist, fix those first.
2. EGR Valve actuator.
