Detroit DD16 GHG14 (2014-16) Fault Code: SPN 2791 FMI 9 (MCM) Smart Remote Actuator 3 (EGR), No Communication

DESCRIPTION:
The fault code sets when the motor control module (MCM) does not receive a message from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve actuator.

MONITORED PARAMETER:
MCM communication from the EGR valve actuator.

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Ignition on

MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None

EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Always enabled

TYPICAL DURATION:
Two seconds

DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL

ENGINE REACTION:
None

VERIFICATION:
Ignition on

PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. If any voltage codes exist, fix those first.
2. EGR valve actuator pull rod.
3. EGR actuator.
4. EGR valve.
5. Wiring between the EGR actuator harness and the ECM.
