Detroit DD16 GHG14 (2014-16) Fault Code: SPN 677 FMI 5 (MCM) Engine Starter Relay Open Circuit

DESCRIPTION:
This fault sets when the MCM detects that there is an open on the engine starter relay circuit.

MONITORED PARAMETER:
Engine starter relay.

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Key on

MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None

EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.

TYPICAL DURATION:
Two seconds

1. MIL
2. CEL
3. None after MCM update

ENGINE REACTION:
No start

VERIFICATION:
Engine cranking

PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Starter relay.
2. Starter relay wiring.
