Eaton Gen 1 (AutoShift) Fault Code: 31 PID: PID 62 FMI: 4 Engine Brake Relay Coil

Overview:
This code indicates an electrical failure of the relay used to inhibit the engine brake during shifts.

Detection:
Starting at key-on and throughout operation, the System Manager constantly measures this circuit. A failure mode of a short to battery, short to ground, or open circuit is detected.

Fallback:
There is no fallback mode with this fault.

Required Tools:
1) Basic Hand Tools
2) Digital Volt/Ohm Meter
3) AutoSelect/AutoShift Troubleshooting Guide

Possible Causes:
1) Relay coil open or shorted
2) Damaged tower or OEM harness
3) Malfunctioning system manager ECU
