Eaton Gen 2 (AutoShift) Fault Code: 73 PID: SID 58 FMI: 7 Failed to Engage Gear

Overview:
Fault Code 73 indicates the transmission is unable to engage the desired gear in the front box during a shift.

Detection:
The transmission detects this fault by attempting the same shifter action 5 times and not sensing the desired position.

Fallback:
This fault causes an in-place fallback.

Possible Causes:
1) Electric Shifter
2) Yoke, Clutch, Main Shaft
3) Gear Select Sensor
4) Shift Block

Shop Talk:
Complete several shifts while the vehicle is in motion, including selections from neutral. Also allow the transmission to complete several automatic
shifts.
