PACCAR MX (2004 Emissions) Fault Code: P1335 Crankshaft Speed Signal – Disturbed or No Signal During Engine Start
SET CONDITIONS:
The PCI ECU (D420) detects that one or more holes in the flywheel are not detected within one crankshaft revolution.
DIAGNOSTIC CONDITION:
This diagnostic runs continuously when the engine is started.
CORRESPONDING OBD READINESS MONITOR:
None
RESET CONDITION:
This DTC changes to inactive when the fault is no longer detected.
REPAIR VERIFICATION:
1. Clear all DTCs.
2. Test drive or operate the vehicle to meet the diagnostic conditions and set conditions.
3. Did the DTC come back?
– No, repair successful
– Yes, repair unsuccessful
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Faulty crankshaft sensor signal
2. Damaged flywheel
3. Faulty crankshaft sensor
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
1. Crankshaft sensor (F552) is used to determine the crankshaft speed and position.
2. It is possible that the camshaft sensor (F558) is used as backup to run the engine.
3. Engine torque is reduced.
