Volvo All Engines (2010 Emissions) Fault Code: SPN 103 FMI 9 PID: Engine Turbocharger

The Turbo Speed Sensor is an inductive sensor. When the engine is running, the turbocharger shaft rotates past the Turbo Speed Sensor tip and a pulsed voltage signal is generated. The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the frequency of the signal generated by the Turbo Speed Sensor to calculate the turbo speed.
The turbo speed signal is used to calculate fuel injection.

4) Open circuit, Ground wire
5) Short circuit to battery voltage, Signal wire
6) Short circuit to ground, Signal wire
7) Charge air pressure sensor
8) Engine control module (ECM)
