Volvo All Engines (2010 Emissions) Fault Code: SPN 1265 FMI 3 PID: SID 85 Engine Piston Cooling Oil Pressure Actuator

The engine piston cooling oil supply valve is located in the oil filter housing and is used to control the piston cooling oil pressure. The engine control module (ECM) controls the valve by monitoring the signal from the piston cooling oil pressure sensor. If an electrical fault is detected inside the valve it will be fully open (fail safe).

Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Output activated
2) The current at pin A14.EB:41 is above 2.2?A

Diagnostic operating conditions
1) Ignition key in ON position

Observable symptoms
1) Low oil pressure at low engine speed

Probable cause
1) Short circuit to voltage supply, control wire
2) Short circuit in control valve
