This diagnostic function indicates malfunction at the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor. The purpose of the exhaust gas sensor is to contribute the relevant temperatures required for the temperature regulated aftertreatment diesel particulate filter regeneration control. A faulty EGT sensor can result with a failed aftertreatment (DPF) regeneration.
Observable symptoms
1) None
Probable cause
1) Wiring harness between component connector and electronic control unit (ECU) connector
2) Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor
