Volvo All Engines (2010 Emissions) Fault Code: SPN 1761 FMI 18 PID: PPID 278 Aftertreatment Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) – Moderately Severe Level
Aftertreatment Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Tank, Level Sensor has an indicator lamp and gauge in the instrument cluster. A solid lamp comes on when there is approximately 16% DEF remaining in the tank. A flashing lamp indicates when there is approximately 4% DEF remaining in the tank. A 25% engine derate is possible if the DEF is not refilled above the red line on the gauge at the next engine start up.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Low signal voltage from sensor
Observable symptoms
1) No aftertreatment diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) dosage
2) Engine de-rated (25%)
Probable cause
1) Empty tank
2) Connector
3) Wiring harness
4) Aftertreatment diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank, Level Sensor
