Volvo All Engines (2010 Emissions) Fault Code: SPN 2791 FMI 7 PID: SID 146 Engine Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve Control
The EGR Valve operation is controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM) using a pulse width modulated signal.? The ECU provides both the power and ground circuits. The EGR Valve assembly consists of a solenoid, operating a valve by hydraulic pressure provided by the engine?s oiling system.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Valve is not closing properly

Activation
1) The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is first set after 30?min when driving with varying engine loads
2) At idle the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is normally not set to active
Deactivation
1) The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be shown as inactive when the ignition key is turned to the 0 position
2) To fully verify the repair it may be necessary to activate vehicle functions or perform a test drive
