This fault indicates failure of the combustion flame to ignite. When aftertreatment diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration is active the aftertreatment control module (ACM) activates the ignition coil, aftertreatment DPF atomization module and air valves in order to create a flame in the aftertreatment DPF combustion chamber. The flame temperature is monitored continually by the ACM. To verify combustion the ACM measures the rise in flame temperature during the first 10 seconds of combustion. If proper combustion during the first 10 seconds of operation is not achieved the fault will be set.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Regeneration failed to start, Multiple occurrences
Observable symptoms
1) Regeneration aborted
2) Regeneration not possible
Probable cause
1) Ignition wire connections
2) Nozzle
3) Aftertreatment diesel particulate filter (DPF) Ignition electrode(s)
4) Aftertreatment Fuel Supply Pressure
5) Aftertreatment fuel shut-off valve
6) Flame temperature sensor
7) Aftertreatment ignition coil
8) Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate FIlter (DPF) Combustion Air Valve
9) Low turbocharger boost
10) Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Atomization Module
11) Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM)
