This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates faults in the engine turbocharger compressor bypass actuator and solenoid. The function of the bypass actuator is to re-circulate the heated compressed air from the turbocharger back to the intake side which results in higher exhaust temperatures. A faulty engine turbocharger compressor bypass actuator can lead to power loss if valve is open at inappropriate times and no aftertreatment diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration if the bypass valve does not open.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) The voltage at pin A14.EB:46 is above normal value, Output activated
Observable symptoms
1) The solenoid valve cannot be activated
2) Regeneration not possible
3) Possible engine de-rate
4) Aftertreatment selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst warming not possible
Probable cause
1) Short circuit to voltage supply, control wire
2) Control wire in engine wiring harness
3) ETCBV, Solenoid valve(s)
