Volvo All Engines (2010 Emissions) Fault Code: SPN 412 FMI 16 PID: Engine Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature

This function is used to check if the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) temperature sensor is working and check the status on the EGR cooler. If the sensor should show a value above limit due to extreme driving or malfunction in the cooler, the Engine Control Module (ECM) will derate the engine to avoid damage.

Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) EGR temperature after cooler is above range

Observable symptoms
1) Loss of power

Probable cause
1) Extreme driving conditions, EGR Cooler
