This function is used to check if the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) temperature sensor is working and check the status on the EGR cooler. If the sensor should show a value above limit due to extreme driving or malfunction in the cooler, the Engine Control Module (ECM) will derate the engine to avoid damage.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) The voltage at pin A14.EB:48 is less than 0.024?V
Observable symptoms
1) Engine de-rated
Probable cause
1) Connector
2) Temperature sensor, EGR
3) Open circuit, Ground wire
4) Short circuit to higher voltage, Signal wire
5) Wiring harness
6) Engine control module (ECM)
