The oil thermostat is located in the oil filter housing and controls the engine oil temperature by controlling if the oil is sent through the oil cooler or not. The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors that the thermostat is working as expected by comparing the Engine Oil Pressure (EOP) Sensor value to a calculated oil temperature.
Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) The voltage at pin A14.EB:53 is between 33?% and 67?% of the battery voltage
Diagnostic operating conditions
1) Ignition key in ON position
Observable symptoms
1) Increased fuel consumption
2) Low oil temperature
Probable cause
1) Open circuit on common supply wire or open circuit on fuse FE9
2) Open circuit in the valve
3) Open circuit in component
