Volvo Engine D12D AE E3 (Tier 3) Fault Code: SID22 FMI 8 Timing Sensor, Crank
DETECTION CONDITIONS:
The engine control unit (E-ECU) registers abnormal frequency of signal from the speed sensor. (EA37/EA38)
SYMPTOM:
1. Misfiring.
2. Engine stops/cannot be started (on condition that camshaft signal is also incorrect).
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Electric interference on speed signal.
2. Incorrectly installed sensor (incorrect distance to sensor gear).
3. Defective sensor.
4. Damaged gear teeth on flywheel.
