PACCAR MX (2004 Emissions) Fault Code: P102C VTG Turbocharger Turbine – Malfunction

SET CONDITIONS:
The PCI ECU (D420) detects that the turbine shaft of the VTG turbocharger is broken or stuck.

DIAGNOSTIC CONDITION:
This diagnostic runs:
1. When the engine is running and
2. No malfunctions are detected on the turbo speed sensor and boost pressure sensor.

CORRESPONDING OBD READINESS MONITOR:
None

RESET CONDITION:
This DTC changes to inactive when the fault is no longer detected.

REPAIR VERIFICATION:
1. Clear all DTCs.
2. Test drive or operate the vehicle to meet the diagnostic conditions and set conditions.
3. Did the DTC come back?
– No, repair successful
– Yes, repair unsuccessful

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
Malfunction on VTG turbocharger

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
For this diagnostic, the PCI ECU checks the likely readings from the turbo speed sensor (F683) and the boost pressure sensor (F802) for a certain engine speed and fuel injection quantity.
