Cummins ISX CM870 (2003-06) Fault Code: 214 PID: P175 SPN: 175 FMI: 0/0 Engine Oil Temperature – Data Valid But Above Normal Operating Range – Most Severe Level. Engine oil temperature signal indicates engine oil temperature above engine protection critical limit.

The engine oil temperature sensor measures the temperature of the oil in the oil rifle on the left hand side of the engine block. This fault code is activated if the engine oil temperature is above 122?C [252?F].

Possible causes:

1)Low oil level
2)High coolant temperature
3)Failed lubricating oil thermostat
4)Failed lubricating oil cooler
5)Failed engine oil temperature sensor.
