Volvo All Engines (2010 Emissions) Fault Code: SPN 1761 FMI 4 PID: PPID 278 Aftertreatment Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)

Aftertreatment Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Tank, Level Sensor has an indicator lamp and gauge in the instrument cluster. A solid lamp comes on when there is approximately 16% DEF remaining in the tank. A flashing lamp indicates when there is approximately 4% DEF remaining in the tank. A 25% engine derate is possible if the DEF is not refilled above the red line on the gauge at the next engine start up.

Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) Short circuit to ground in the component or wiring
2) Short circuit to lower voltage

Observable symptoms
1) The Aftertreatment diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank level gauge remains permanently at the minimum level
