DETECTION CONDITIONS:
The engine control unit (E-ECU) registers:
1. Drive step for relay for preheating coil activated.
2. Signal line short-circuited to frame ground. (EB7)
SYMPTOM:
1. Preheating not functioning.
2. White smoke during cold starts.
3. Difficult to start in extreme cold.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Signal line short-circuited to frame ground. (EB7)
2. Defective relay.
