Cummins ISM CM875 (2003-06) Fault Code: 418 PID: P097 SPN: 97 FMI: 0/15 Water-in-Fuel Indicator – Data Valid But Above Normal Operating Range – Least Severe Level. Water has been detected in the fuel filter.

This fault code indicates that water has been detected in the water separation fuel filter. Drain the water from the fuel filter.

If this fault code is active and there is no water in the fuel filter, a malfunctioning Water-In-Fuel sensor is a likely cause.

The water-in-fuel sensor will be located on the suction-side fuel filter that is mounted by the OEM. Locations will vary depending on chassis.

Possible repair:

1)Drain the water from the fuel filter.
