The aftertreatment DPF switch communicates with the Engine Control Module (ECM) using the J1939-1 data link. If communication is interrupted or disturbed, between the aftertreatment DPF switch and the ECM a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be set.
Probable cause
1) Fuse, Short circuit
2) Open circuit, Supply wire
3) Open circuit, Ground wire
4) Data link failure
5) Aftertreatment diesel particulate filter (DPF) switch
